Policies and Charter Board Minutes Financial Records

All New Zealand state and state integrated schools have a School Board. The Board are the Crown entity responsible for the governance of the school. Our Board sets the strategic direction for the school and manages this through their policies. These policies ensure a safe environment that provides quality education for all the students.

Board Members

Craig Conlan

I joined the Ardgowan School Board in 2019 and together with my wife Metty, have three children who are (or have been) Ardgowan kids.

I work locally for Network Waitaki managing the long-term planning of the business and am also a keen musician.
Ardgowan is a wonderful school to be involved with, and I particularly love the perfect balance of being a town school with a rural feel.

Suzy Oakes

Kia ora,
I joined the board at the end of 2023 as one of the new members. My husband Nathan and I are parents to two children, one currently attending Ardgowan School. The amazing sense of community drew our family in. Since then, we have enjoyed participating in various events and activities the school has offered. Previously, I worked as a Teacher Aide and loved getting to know, understand, and work alongside children. I am currently employed at the Oamaru Hospital as a Registered Nurse, and love every aspect of my job. I look forward to seeing many of you at Ardgowan School and future school events alongside our tamariki.

Sonya Creedy Staff Representative

I have been a teacher at Ardgowan School for the past seven years and currently work four days a week in the classroom. I joined the Board of Trustees halfway through last year and value the opportunity to contribute to the governance of our school. I am a mother of three grown children, and my husband is the greenkeeper at the North Otago Golf Club. I greatly appreciate the close-knit community that Ardgowan offers and the strong sense of connection between the school, families, and the wider community.
